The City of Kiel has a new city clerk.
City Administrator David Funkhouser tells SeehaferNews.com that Deputy City Clerk Sarah Preissner was named to the head role following a closed session.
Former City Clerk Katrina Weir is no longer employed with the city.
Funkhouser says when he took his job about a year ago, he realized the clerk’s office was more work on top of what they already have to do and included many people walking in.
A new position of deputy city clerk was budgeted this year to help offset the issues in the front office.
The city is now looking for their next deputy city clerk.
