
Junior Will Franzen of Manitowoc Lutheran and senior Matthew Bonin of Roncalli will represent the lakeshore in the WIAA three-point challenge at the Kohl Center in Madison Saturday morning (March 22nd).
They finished as the top two three-point shooters in the state in Division Four during this past regular season, earning the right to participate.
Franzen at 49.2% and Bonin shot 47.5% from behind the arc.
They will join eight other shooters, the top two from Divisions one, two, three and five in the competition.
Each shooter will shoot one round consisting of five racks of five balls from various spots on the floor.
Each shot made behind the arc counts as one point with the money ball counting as two points.
The top four shooters advance to the semifinals with the top two shooters advancing to the finals.
There is a time limit of one minute per shooter per round.
The competition begins at 9:30 a.m. Franzen and Bonin will look to become the second player from Manitowoc to win the competition, joining Trey Zastrow, who won in 2019.
