
The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association is honoring some of the judges of the 2025 United States Champion Cheese Contest in Green Bay.
Three awards were given during the competition last month including the Schlinsog Award, Aschebrock Award, and the Eggbrecht Award.
Cathy Strange got the first award for her helpfulness and excellence in the WCMA’s Championship Cheese Contest.
The Aschebrock Award went to Greg Kinate for being an outstanding judge and mentor.
He’s also worked with influential players in the cheese industry like Kraft and Sargento.
Two people were given the Eggbrecht Award.
Larry Bell and Gary Vidlock got the award for being outstanding volunteers at the event.
The WCMA hosts the cheese competition biannually with this year bringing in over 2,400 entries, including one group from Manitowoc.
