The City of Sheboygan has appointed a director for a newly formed governmental department.
Michael Willams has been promoted to Director of the city’s new Facilities and Operations Department.
In this new role, Williams will be tasked with overseeing the successful maintenance and operations of more than 30 buildings across Sheboygan, including the Harbor Center Marina, the Mead Public Library, and Uptown Social.
As the City continues to evaluate its growth, officials identified the need to create the Facilities and Operations Department in order to offer the best customer service to residents and manage various city assets and resources.
In his new position, Williams brings nearly 20 years of experience with the city, being hired in 2006 as an electrician with the Sheboygan Department of Public Works.
In their announcement, the City said, “We are confident that Director Williams will play a crucial role in enhancing our city’s infrastructure and maintaining our public facilities to the highest standards.”
He will be operating out of a satellite office located on the second floor of City Hall in Downtown Sheboygan.
