More than 90 members of United Auto Workers Local 291 walked off the job at Cummins on Tuesday at noon, starting a strike.
The workers’ contract expired in January, and according to the union president, there have been only nine meetings with the company since then.
Cummins, which specializes in engines and generators, is facing demands from the workers for higher wages, an end to mandatory Saturday shifts, and the removal of temporary workers.
The union has stated they will continue the strike until a resolution is reached.
