A man is facing charges after he allegedly attacked a woman outside of a Manitowoc church.
Manitowoc Police Officers were called to St. James Episcopal Church on North 8th Street at 2:30 this morning (March 20th) on a report of disorderly conduct.
The caller claimed a man had thrown items out of a vehicle and struck a woman with a bag.
Officers had spoken with the two individuals involved roughly four and a half hours earlier in a Kwik Trip parking lot, where the victim told police that they both were homeless and living out of the victim’s vehicle.
The victim explained that they had gotten into an argument, she locked herself inside the vehicle and told the 30-year-old man to leave her alone.
The suspect then began yelling and cursing at the woman, calling her derogatory names, before going into the truck, which did not properly lock, and removing all of the items.
He then climbed through the trunk into the vehicle, grabbed a black duffle bag, and hit the woman with it.
The man was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct with a Domestic Violence Order, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
