A Minneapolis-based band will headline Manitowoc’s annual outdoor music festival.
The Jayhawks have been announced as the headliners for Metro Jam and will perform on Saturday, June 21st.
According to their bio, the Jayhawks were a driving force behind the growing Americana movement in the early 1990s, although they emerged during the Minneapolis music scene in the 1980s.
They’ve released 11 albums over four decades and have had countless live shows and enough personal drama to be on a couple of episodes of “Behind the Music.”
The 46th annual Metro Jam takes place in Washington Park on Friday, June 20th, and Saturday, June 21st.
The event features music of all genres, including jazz, folk, and classic rock, among others.
The iconic concert is free to attend and made possible by Manitowoc Public Utilities, and the West Foundation.
