A former standout for Sheboygan Lutheran’s boys basketball team is set to make his NCAA tournament debut.
Lipscomb University Senior Jacob Ognacevic will make his debut in the big dance when the Bison take on the Iowa State Cyclones at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee in the first round of the tournament at 12:30 p.m. today (March 21st).
The 6’8” forward was an elite player in the Atlantic Sun Conference this season, averaging 20.1 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting a blistering 75 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point land.
His performance over the year also earned him the ASUN Player of the Year Award.
In his time as a Sheboygan Lutheran Crusader, Ognacevic averaged nearly 30 points per game, finished in the top ten in scoring in the history of Wisconsin, and joined Mickey Crow and Anthony Pieper as the only three players to score more than 1,000 points in a season.
This was capped off by a Division Five State Championship in the 2018-2019 season.
Ognacevic and the Bison will be taking on another Wisconsin high school hoops product as the Cyclones’ Milan Momcilovic was a three-time state champion with Pewaukee High School.
