
Marion Boyland scored 23 points and added nine rebounds to lead Sheboygan Lutheran to an 80 to 51 victory over Abundant Life Christian of Madison in a WIAA Division Five state basketball semifinal at The Kohl Center.
The Crusaders used an 11-to-nothing run at the end of the first half to extend a one-point lead to twelve 36 to 24 at halftime and dominated the second half by outscoring the Challengers 44 to 27.
Zach Leonard added 18 points for Sheboygan Lutheran and nine rebounds, and Oliver Leibham chipped in 16 and six rebounds.
John Koon led Abundant Life Christian with 17 points, ending their season at 23 and 6.
Sheboygan Lutheran improves to 25 and 4 and will play Cochrane Fountain City for The Division Five championship on Saturday at 11:05 a.m.
The Pirates defeated Turtle Lake 66 to 54 in the other semifinal Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Lakers head coach Angela Turner became the first female to coach a team at the state boys’ basketball tournament.
Her son Brandon, a junior for Turtle Lake, scored 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss.
