The City of Manitowoc has released its schedule for spring street sweeping.
The Department of Public Infrastructure will be cleaning the city’s streets to provide safe and clean road conditions, which includes the enforcement of street sweeping parking bans.
This parking ban will begin on Tuesday, April 1st, however, warning tickets started to be issued yesterday (March 24th) and will continue to be handed out until Monday, March 31st.
Not only does street sweeping keep roadways clean, but it also helps keep pollution out of the city’s waterways.
Many storm drains in Manitowoc lead directly to Lake Michigan, the Manitowoc River, the Little Manitowoc River, and Silver Creek.
Guidelines for the upcoming street sweeping parking ban in Manitowoc can be found at Manitowoc.org under the municipal code tab.
Residents are encouraged to check them to avoid receiving a ticket as crews work to keep streets, rivers, and Lake Michigan clean.
