A mother from Little Chute has been sentenced following the death of her daughter.
29-year-old Brooke Seal was inside an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday (March 24th) for her sentencing hearing as she faced multiple felony counts related to the death of her 2-year-old daughter who ingested fentanyl.
Seal was previously convicted of Neglecting a Child, Consequence is Death and Possessing an Illegal Article due to no contest pleas.
At yesterday’s hearing, Judge Carrie Schneider sentenced the 29-year-old to nine years in prison followed by eight years of extended supervision.
Seal was arrested last year following the death of her daughter. Her arrest was brought on after a toxicology report showed the young girl died from exposure to fentanyl, but how the child gained access to it is unknown.
Another individual, 42-year-old Faheem Jones, was also arrested following the girl’s death.
A backpack with a stolen gun, ammunition, and over 1,400 pills that tested positive for fentanyl was found with Jones upon his arrest.
Jones returns to court for charges related to his role in the death of the 2-year-old on April 4th for a pre-trial conference.
