
A Calumet County child is dead following a residential fire.
Lieutenant Craig Wendling with the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies and the New Holstein Fire Department were dispatched to an undisclosed residence in the Town of Charlestown just after 2:00 yesterday morning (March 26th) on a report of a fire.
A child was found unresponsive and not breathing, and life-saving measures were performed.
The child was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The incident is still under investigation, and no additional details are being released at this time.
