A former basketball coach at Ripon High School was back in court for allegedly sexually assaulting a student.
31-year-old Mihai Schnell-Harrison appeared in Fond du Lac County on Tuesday (March 25th) for a status conference.
Schnell-Harrison has been charged with Sexual Assault of a Student by School Staff, Possession of Child Pornography, Child Enticement-Sexual Contact, Exposing Genitals to a Child, and Exposing a Child to Harmful Material. In December of last year, he originally pled not guilty to all five felonies that he had been charged with.
However, court records show that the 31-year-old’s legal counsel and the state are actively working to reach a plea agreement.
It is alleged that while he was the head coach of the boy’s basketball team, he exchanged nude photos with an underage Ripon student.
Schnell-Harrison and the minor then met up in the high school parking lot, where they allegedly had physical and sexual contact.
He will return to court on April 14th for another status conference as a plea agreement is negotiated.
