The City of Two Rivers is shining a light on its youth apprentices.
In a report from City Manager Greg Buckley, four high school students working for the city in various fields were highlighted.
Karson Kowalski, a junior at Mishicot High School, works as a youth apprentice at the City’s Water Department where he helps in the lab, in distribution, and in maintenance.
Two Rivers High School senior Kiana Luebke began last May in her apprenticeship where she assists the City Clerk and HR Director with tasks related to elections, licensing, and more.
Logan Hansen and Jayden Wanek, both juniors at Two Rivers High School, began their youth apprenticeships with the Parks and Recreation Department at the start of the current school year.
In their roles, they are gaining valuable experience where they learn general building maintenance, seasonal start-up and shut-down, and special event support.
Additional youth apprenticeships through the Two Rivers Fire Department and Forestry Division are also offered and will begin in the near future.
