Local bus routes will be detoured during the upcoming road construction projects.
Dan Koski, Manitowoc’s Director of Public Infrastructure, has said that the Maritime Metro Transit route one bus will be detoured while work is being done on Memorial Drive.
The detour will begin on Tuesday (April 1st), and no clear end date has been set as the Wisconsin DOT has stated that construction may last until late May.
After leaving the Bayshore Drive and Johnston Drive transfer point in Manitowoc, route one will travel north on Johnston Drive, then east on Columbus Street before heading south on 10th Street.
The bus route will then continue as normal on 12th Street. With the detour in place, six temporary bus stops will be created as well. Columbus Street will have three, near 18th and 13th Streets and between 10th and 11th Streets.
There will be two on 10th Street by Bellevue Place and Lowell Street. The final temporary stop will be at the intersection of Lowell and 12th Streets.
Those with questions regarding the temporary changes to Route 1 are asked to contact Maritime Metro at 920-686-3560.
