A ribbon cutting was held in Sheboygan for a new addition to the Mead Public Library.
The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce held the event to celebrate the new 24/7 lockers at the library, which allow residents to pick up their reserved books or other materials at any time.
The lockers have been very well-received by Sheboyganites who have been using them since late last year when they were put into operation.
There are 41 individual lockers and in the first few months of use, the library has reported that on average, 34 are in use every day.
With the early success, the Mead Public Library Board of Trustees is exploring the possible addition of another column of lockers.
In attendance to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the library’s 24/7 lockers were Mayor Ryan Sorenson, Alder Grazia Parella, and members of the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce, including CEO Deidre Martinez.
