A Manitowoc-based wealth management firm is looking to continue its history of success in its 30th year.
Skylight Wealth Management turned 30 years old in August of 2024, and celebrated with a big party for their employees and clients.
Nathan Raddatz, a Financial Advisor and the CEO of Skylight tells SeehaferNews.com that they have a focus on helping individuals and small businesses plan for their future.
“Sometimes that’s education planning, always that’s retirement planning…It’s doing the planning of figuring out what they need to do, but then it’s actually doing it to investments, stocks, bonds, IRAs, Roth IRAs,” he explained. “(It’s about figuring out) what’s the best method to get you to your retirement size wise.”
The team has been very successful in that goal, as Forbes Magazine included them in their 2025 Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams list. This is the third year in a row they received this honor, while Raddatz was named the 26th best In State Wealth Advisor, his 6th year in a row making the list. A majority of the list is comprised of advisors in big cities like Madison and Milwaukee, as well as a couple scattered through Green Bay and LaCrosse, but Raddatz is one of only a few to come from cities the size of Manitowoc. He called the honor a “nice sense of pride for our community.”
He also noted that while these massive companies boast billions of dollars under management, Skylight is not too far behind.
“We compare pretty well to the big cities,” he revealed. “That’s because in Manitowoc, we have people that go to work every day, they save into their 401k…take good care of their home…plan for their future, and the employers do matches inside of the 401ks as well.”
For some, the hiring of a wealth advisor seems odd, as they could handle it on their own. Surprisingly, Raddatz agreed, saying, “Nobody needs to go see a financial advisor. Anyone can go and learn the things that are necessary to be a financial advisor if they want to spend their life doing that…But most people aren’t interested in doing that. Most people want to make the right decisions without having to go to school for it, without having to read about it, without putting the emotional juice into it.”
