Residents have been displaced following a fire in Oshkosh.
WBAY reports that the Oshkosh Fire Department was called yesterday (March 31st) to the 1300 block of Liberty Street at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed flames coming from the home’s backside which spread quickly and eventually engulfed the entire house.
A family of six living in the home were able to escape the blaze, however one was hospitalized, and two others were treated for smoke inhalation.
Two dogs were also able to make it out of the home, while two cats are still unaccounted for.
Fire crews have deemed the house a total loss, and the Red Cross is assisting the family that has been displaced.
Currently, the cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
Assisting agencies on scene included the Town of Oshkosh Fire Department, the Omro Rushford Fire Department, the Fox Crossing Fire Department, and the Neenah/Menasha Fire Rescue.
