Sheboygan County wants to help residents dispose of harmful waste.
The County’s Planning and Conservation Department will be holding a household hazardous waste collection program on Saturday (April 5th) from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the County Highway Department’s facility in Plymouth.
Participation in the program will cost $20 per vehicle with only household hazardous waste, and $40 per vehicle with only household electronic waste or both electronic and hazardous waste.
During the event, the county will not accept latex paint or large appliances such as refrigerators or dishwashers.
A complete list of what will and won’t be accepted on Saturday can be found by visiting sheboygancounty.com.
Hazardous waste, if not disposed of properly, can create a potential health risk to people and can threaten the groundwater, rivers, and lakes.
Since its inception in 2001, Sheboygan County’s household hazardous waste collections have properly disposed of over 1,500,000 pounds of hazardous waste.
