The Manitowoc woman who claims to worship “Santa Muerte” or the Saint of Death has pleaded in her stabbing case.
48-year-old Blanca Perez-Hernandez was present on Tuesday (April 1st) for her arraignment as she faces two felony counts of First-Degree Reckless Injury with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
After being deemed competent for the case to move forward in March, Perez-Hernandez pled not guilty while also waiving her right to a preliminary hearing.
The 48-year-old was arrested in January after slashing one victim with a large knife and attempting to stab another.
The incident began with Perez-Hernandez taking the license plates off of vehicles, which she perceived to be hers, when she was confronted by the rightful owners.
She later told police that she worships “Santa Muerte,” or the Saint of Death, and claimed “Santa Muerte” had gifted her “all of the cars in the trailer park and all the cars in the world.”
Perez-Hernandez will return to court in Manitowoc County on May 2nd at 8:30 a.m.
