Firefighters from Sheboygan have taken home the top spot in a competition to raise money for the American Lung Association.
Sheboygan Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 483 earned first place for a second consecutive year in the Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb held in the U.S. Bank Center in Milwaukee last month.
Participants in the event were challenged to climb 47 flights of stairs inside the tallest building in the state of Wisconsin to support lung health research and advocacy.
Funds raised during the Fight for Air Climb go directly toward life-saving research, public health advocacy, and support programs for those battling lung cancer and other respiratory illnesses.
In a statement on their accomplishment, the City of Sheboygan said, “Please join us in congratulating the Sheboygan Professional Firefighters for their impressive accomplishment and for making a difference in the fight for healthy lungs—one step at a time.”
