The Manitowoc Lincoln girls soccer team kicked off their season with a decisive 2-0 win over West De Pere.
The ships broke the 0-0 tie within the first minute of play with Annalise Kue tickling the twine.
Teegan Heyn would double the lead on a 35-yard free kick, and the defense clamped down to secure the shutout win. Julia Sieraki was a brick wall between the pipes, securing 14 saves.
Coach Ethan Jones reports that Sarah Bolchen “was all over the field tonight and was the best player on the pitch.”
The Ships will next be in action on Monday when they will continue their six-game home stand against Sevastopol/Gibraltar.
