A statue memorializing Manitowoc’s K9s looks close to becoming a reality.
A post on the Manitowoc Police Department’s Facebook page shows the statue of “Liberty” finished and photographed by sculptor Sutton Betti.
The statue will highlight the police’s K9 program, which is special to many people.
The Manitowoc Police Department was only $5,000 away from its fundraising goal of $25,000 in February.
The status was approved by the Manitowoc Common Council in April last year.
