Joan Marie (Meunier) Polzin, age 74, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Rivers Bend Health Services.
Joan was born on July 30, 1950, in Oconto, WI, to the late Frederick and Viola (Benoit) Meunier. She graduated from North Salem High School in Salem, OR. Joan worked at several local manufacturing companies over the years, retiring in 2000. In 2012, she and Ted Polzin had an unforgettable Halloween wedding. Traveling, fishing, and show shoeing were some of her favorite things to do, but most of all she loved spending time with her family – especially her grandkids. Her over-the-top Christmas decorations were something to look forward to every year. Joan enjoyed gardening flowers as well as vegetables — many of which she canned herself at harvest time.
Joan is survived by her husband Ted, son Robert Hein, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many siblings, a brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, oldest brother Fred Meunier, and sister Alice Walkner.
Cremation has taken place at Harrigan Parkside Crematory Chapel. A Life Celebration will take place at a later date that is yet to be determined. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.
