The Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA is recognizing April at Child Abuse Prevention and Safety Month.
From April 21st through the 25th, the local Y will participate in Five Days of Action. It’s a weeklong campaign designed to inspire adults to take meaningful steps to protect children from sexual abuse.
The campaign centers around three words: Know, See, and Respond. CEO Julie Grossman says, “While April is when we talk about it the most, child protection is a year-round commitment. We’re inviting everyone in the community to join us in building a stronger safety net that prevents, stops, and responds to child abuse.”
The Manitowoc Two-Rivers YMCA is also launching a dedicated, deep dive into a year-long process that audits every aspect of the organization to ensure the highest standards of child safety.
