Several international students and alumni from the University of Wisconsin-Madison are facing the potential of being deported after their visas were canceled.
The university revealed that six current students and seven alumni had their visas terminated in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System.
A status termination typically requires affected individuals to leave the United States immediately.
UW-Madison confirmed it played no role in the visa cancellations and has not been informed of any related federal law enforcement activities on campus.
