A former standout and state champion with the Sheboygan Lutheran boys basketball team has transferred into the Big Ten.
Jacob Ognacevic, 2024-2025 Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Player of the Year, has transferred to the University of Washington.
Ognacevic started his college career at Valparaiso University before transferring to Lipscomb University ahead of the 2022 season.
The 6’ 8” forward was an instant star for the Bison of Lipscomb, averaging 17.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in his first season with the team.
This past season, Ognacevic took another step up and averaged 20 points per game to go along with 8 boards while shooting 40 percent from deep.
This was good enough to earn him his second First-Team All-ASUN selection, and the attention of power five schools such as Washington.
During his time as a Crusader, Ognacevic powered Sheboygan Lutheran to a Division Five State Championship as a junior in 2019 and averaged 39 points per game his senior season which was cut short due to COVID-19.
While the schedule is yet to be released, Ognacevic will be slated to take on the Wisconsin Badgers in Big Ten action next season.
