
A Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) teacher has been recognized as one of the top educators in the state.
Sheboygan South High School art teacher Brian Sommersberger has been named one of 100 recipients of the Herb Kohl Teacher Fellowship.
Those to receive the distinction are recognized for their exceptional leadership, dedication to students, and commitment to educational excellence.
As a Fellowship recipient, Sommersberger will be awarded $6,000 to honor his ability to motivate students and lead inside and outside of the classroom.
Sheboygan South will also be awarded a matching $6,000 grant to further support school initiatives.
Other area teachers named as Fellowship recipients include Jamie Glandt and Brian Hammar of Mishicot Middle School, Laurie Probst of Sheboygan Falls Middle School, and Elizabeth Rodriguez from the Chilton Area Catholic School.
