
The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble is going to close out its season with a salute to all things Wisconsin.
“An American Salute: Wisconsin Rhapsody” is scheduled to close its season at the Capital Civic Center on May 3rd.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., guest pianist Dr. Justin Krueger, Vice President of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, will be performing Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin, works by Wisconsin composers will be featured, including LWE’s own Brian Van Ells and Gary Audry.
Audry’s arrangement is the title track for the WWII mini-series, Masters of the Air, which will be performed along with the video trailer.
Veterans will also be honored during the concert with service songs for each branch.
Guest vocalist and retired music educator and retired Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Lakeshore Big Band vocalist/assistant conductor David Bourgeois returns to the Capitol stage to sing several pieces, including Mansions of the Lord, As Time Goes By, and America the Beautiful.
