One of the most popular hunting seasons in the state is set to begin this week.
The 2025 spring turkey season will officially begin on Wednesday, April 16th, and remain open until May 27th.
Spring turkey season is broken down into six, seven-day periods that will all open on a Wednesday and close the following Tuesday.
Additionally, all seven turkey management zones in Wisconsin will be open for hunting during each of the six periods.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters that they must bring their spring turkey license, wild turkey stamp, and valid harvest authorization with them while participating in the hunt.
Those harvesting a turkey are also required to register their turkey no later than 5:00 p.m. the day after recovery.
A turkey can be registered online at gowild.wi.gov or over the phone by calling 844-426-3734.
