Everest Metro Police were called to an apartment building Friday morning (April 23rd) at about 3:30 a-m by a woman requesting assistance.
When officers went inside the building they heard a woman screaming and were confronted by an armed man.
The officers opened fire, wounded the armed suspect, then entered the apartment and found a woman’s body.
No names have been released.
The man was hospitalized in critical condition.
The Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation is handling both cases – the shooting by police officers and the death of the woman.
