Marcella A. Schumacher, born to Joseph and Rose (Shusta) Miller on October 3, 1918, in the Town of Tisch Mills, Wisconsin, returned to her Heavenly Father on April 24, 2021, following a brief illness, having reached the age of 102 years. She was a treasure to all who knew her kindness, generous spirit, and love.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Reverend Jacob Hoff will officiate. Entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth, will take place privately.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 28, at the church until the time of service at 11 a.m. The family requests the mindfulness of social distancing during these pandemic times, and the courtesy of facial masks if you would be so kind.
Survivors include daughter Jane and son-in-law Gary Birkholz, Whitelaw; son John and daughter-in-law Patti Schumacher, Manitowoc; four granddaughters: Sally Birkholz, Corie and Chad Vik, Kristin and Nick Baye, and Amanda Schumacher; and nine great-grandchildren: Elise, Brenna, Tarynn, and Evan Vik; Alyssa, Kohler, Kamden, and Amiya Baye; and Paddyn Schumacher. Other survivors include nieces, nephews, and friends. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Glenn; one infant son, David; her parents; brother Adolph (and Vi) Miller; brother Tony (and Muriel) Miller; sister Adeline (and Paul) Neumann; sister Rose (and Harvey) Skwor; some of her nieces and nephews; all of her in-laws; and many good friends.
Memorials would be appreciated to First German Ev. Lutheran Church or school.
The family extends appreciation to the special staff at Kindred Hearts assisted living in Manitowoc for the extra care shown Marcella while residing there.
