Twelve Wisconsin defensive and special teams players have received All Big Ten honors in the first of three days of award announcements. Linebacker T-J Edwards and corner Nick Nelson, both juniors, are consensus all conference first team picks by both the league’s coaches and media. Senior safety D’Cota Dixon also made the coaches’ first team and the media’s third squad. Defensive end Alec James and kicker Rafael Gaglianone were consensus second team selections — Conor Sheehy and Garret Dooley both made the coaches’ second team and the media’s third team — and corner Derrick Tindal made the coaches’ third squad as the Badgers tied with Ohio State for the most defensive players on the top three teams with seven apiece. Five Badgers were also honorable mentions — Ryan Connelly, Leon Jacobs, Natrell Jamerson, Olive Sagapolu, and Joe Ferguson.
