The Wisconsin Badgers are still scanning the transfer portal for a much-needed big man for inside defense.
They missed on Eastern Washington’s Tanner Groves and Penn State’s John Harrar.
Sources say the latest target is Boston College six-foot-eight forward Steffon Mitchell, a native of the Twin Cities area.
The Badgers were in on Mitchell while he was in high school, but he went East.
He’s a two-time A-C-C all-defensive team performer who averaged nine points and seven rebounds a game last year.
Mitchell also has an under-appreciated skill – he’s good at getting to the free-throw line, leading the nation as a sophomore.
