A Milwaukee Common Council committee is advancing a resolution directing the city’s human resources department to come up with a plan where elected officials would be included under anti-harassment and intimidation policies.
This comes in response to allegations against City Attorney Tearman Spencer.
He says the current policy doesn’t apply to him because he’s an elected official.
Spencer also says the allegations are unfounded. Some of those complaints accuse him of addressing women as “dear,” “sweetheart,” or “sweetie.”
Spencer says he made have made some inappropriate remarks – but he says he’s getting pushback because of his efforts to reform the city attorney’s office.
