Wisconsin’s Democratic governor and Republican lawmakers are still at odds over the governor’s $91-billion state budget proposal.
Governor Tony Evers says he’s not meeting with the lawmakers because he’s listening to what the people of Wisconsin want.
Evers says Republicans in the Legislature should do the same thing.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says his party is listening to the people.
The G-O-P controls the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee where members are expected to remove many of the governor’s priorities when they meet – possibly as soon as next week.
