Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre says he’s “not very optimistic” that Aaron Rodgers will return to play for the Packers.
Favre made the comments during an appearance on E-S-P-N Wisconsin Wednesday.
He says he thinks he knows the unhappy Green Bay quarterback pretty well and he doesn’t see him saying, “All right, let’s just bury the hatchet,” then returning to the huddle because he loves his teammates and the Packers fans.
Favre thinks if there isn’t a trade, Rodgers would just rather sit it out than play. He says that’s his gut feeling.
He compares the situation to Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders walking away from the Detroit Lions in 1999.
