Antigo police say officers consulted with D-N-R wardens before euthanizing an injured bear Tuesday morning.
The call came in at about 9:15 a-m.
Officers say injuries to its hind legs made it difficult for the bear to move.
They say it was put down to end its “pain and suffering.”
Residents in the area are being told not to put their bird feeders out yet because it isn’t known if this bear is the same one that was seen there recently.
The bear carcass was donated to the Raptor Education Group based in Antigo.
