According to information from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, the average price for a home in Manitowoc is $120,000. Compare that to the average home price in the state, which is just over $202,000.
Also of note, the average income for each home is roughly $51,500. It should be noted that the numbers account for ZIP codes with at least 1,000 single-family homes and condos, and where at least 500 homes were sold in 2020.
The report released by TheCenterSquare.com also said that “Over 61% of the houses in the area were built in 1969 or earlier, compared to about 45% of homes statewide.” They also noted that the population of the 54220 ZIP code declined by 3% between 2010 and 2019, and cited the “lack of new development in the area”.
However, since 2019, many changes have been made in the area, and several new businesses are coming to Manitowoc. Due to this, the population of the area is expected to increase in the near future.
