After not publishing a COVID-19 report on Wednesday (May 12th), the Manitowoc County Health Department reported yesterday that 14 new cases were confirmed over the previous two days. This brings the pandemic total up to 7,570, with the death toll remaining at 70.
On the vaccination front, 587 more shots were administered over those two days, with 173 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the totals up to 62,270 vaccines given, with 33,660 of those being first dose shots.
Also of note, Holy Family Memorial in Manitowoc has expanded its vaccination efforts.
Starting yesterday, HFM began accepting appointments for anyone 12-years and older to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18, and appointments can be made by wither calling HFM at 920-320-2436, or by going online to www.hfmhealth.org/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-vaccine.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan, the Division of Public Health reported that 12 more people caught the virus, while only six people recovered. That brings their pandemic totals up to 13,759 confirmed cases, 13,500 recoveries, and leaves 117 cases active.
Their death toll also did not change and remains at 142.
