A family from Waunakee is struggling to find gas for a road trip home after vacationing in North Carolina.
A cyberattack shut down the Colonial Pipeline late last week and that pipeline supplies about 45-percent of the gas for stations along the East Coast.
A state of emergency was issued in North Carolina and even though the pipeline is operating again, shortages remain.
The husband went out looking for gas Wednesday night and found every station within 10 miles was closed.
Colonial Pipeline says it will take several gays for deliveries to return to normal.
The Wisconsin family may have to extend its vacation for a few days.
The family name hasn’t been released.
