Governor Tony Evers has signed a $7.6-million contract to improve an 11.5 mile stretch of Wisconsin Highway 67 in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties.
Vinton Construction of Manitowoc is the prime contractor for the work from Suhrke Road in Sheboygan County to StateHighway 32/57 in Manitowoc County. The resurfacing-level project will begin Monday, May 24th and includes new asphalt pavement north of highway 23 and some concrete replacement near Wisconsin 23 ramps. Local communities in the work zone include the Town of Rhine, Village of Elkhart Lake, and Cities of Kiel and Plymouth. Initial traffic impacts include lane-and-shoulder closures with flagging operations. Future impacts will require a full closure of 67 in September and short-term ramp closures. The completion date for the project is this November.
