The COVID-19 numbers in Manitowoc County entered the weekend on a pretty good note.
Only six new cases were reported on Friday (May 14th), leaving the pandemic total at 7,576. The number of people hospitalized in the area with the virus remained unchanged at 34, as did the death toll, which remains at 70.
On the vaccination front, 450 more shots were administered Friday, with 133 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. That brings the total number of shots administered up to 62,720, with 33,793 of those being first dose shots.
According to the Health Department, 42.8% of County residents have gotten at least one dose, while 44.9% of Wisconsinites can claim the same.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health also reported some good numbers entering the weekend.
Only three new cases were reported, and 12 more people recovered. That leaves their pandemic totals at 13,762 confirmed cases, and 13,512 recoveries.
108 cases remain active as of Friday, while the death toll remains at 142.
