A Brown County Circuit judge has ordered an involuntary mental health commitment for a 38-year-old woman facing charges of child and animal neglect.
The 20 misdemeanor charges against Lisa Kraszewski are based on the conditions authorities discovered inside her home in the town of Eaton. Kraszewski declined a voluntary mental health evaluation to see if she is competent to stand trial. Judge John Zakowski will evaluate the report from the Winnebago Mental Health Institute during a June 1st hearing.
When authorities visited the home they found her daughters, ages seven and 12, smelled like dog waste. They had missed a lot of school and were inadequately dressed for cold weather.
