Brewers third-year player Keston Hiura’s bat is showing some signs of relief after his first few games at Triple-A Nashville.
Hiura had a strong rookie campaign, then struggled through the weird, coronavirus-shortened season in 2020. In his first 89 bats at the big league level this year he was hitting just .152 and striking out more than 36 percent of the time.
That earned him a trip to the minors to straighten himself out.
In 16 at-bats he’s slammed four doubles, drawn two walks, and put up an O-P-S of .868. It’s a small sample size, but it’s an indicator he could be back up with the Brewers soon – and the team needs some more offense badly.
Milwaukee plays the Royals at Kansas City tonight (May 18th). Coverage on 107.9 FM WOMT and at www.WOMTRadio.com will begin at 6:35 PM.
