Margaret “Marge” A. Ullman, 72, of Manitowoc, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at home under the care of Heartland Hospice.
She was born in Algoma on June 28, 1948 to the late Nicholas and Agnes (Fiala) Salentine. Margaret grew up in Luxemburg and graduated from high school there. She married Ronald Ullman on March 2, 1968 in Mishicot at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church. After their marriage, Ronald and Margaret moved to Manitowoc.
Margaret was employed by Mirro Aluminum Company for 31 years. After her time working at Mirro, she received her degree from Lakeshore Technical College in Medical Transcription and worked for Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Margaret retired in 2019 from Hobby Lobby where she had worked since 2015. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1972 and was a member of the Ester Circle. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, and babysitting her grandchildren. Over the years Margaret had many of her baked goods entered in the Manitowoc County Fair in the open class. 4-H was an important part of the family’s lives as Margaret, her children, and grandchildren were members. Margaret was a leader for 41 years of the Goodwin Ever Readies. She was an active member of NAMI in Manitowoc for many years and was their treasurer as well.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Ullman; sons, Rob (Robyn) Ullman of Manitowoc and Ross (Jessica) Ullman of Green Bay; daughters, Monica (Rick) Gollata and Melissa Brodtke, all of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren; brothers, James (Mary) Salentine, Ronald Salentine (Carol Salentine), Wayne (Sandy) Salentine, all of Luxemburg, and Jeff (Peggy) Salentine of Tennessee; sisters, Jean (Myron) Rabas of Luxemburg, Carol (Larry) Grimm of Kewaunee, and Judy (Mike) Malcore of Algoma; and nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Agnes Salentine.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 916 Pine Street, Manitowoc, with Rev. Matt Zimpelmann officiating. Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 20 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the church and again on Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Private entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum. Following the service at church a luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
