The pilot of a small plane that crashed into a building at Batten International Airport in Racine Tuesday night was hospitalized, but is expected to recover.
The woman’s name hasn’t been released and she was the only person on board.
The single-engine aircraft slammed into a warehouse near one of the runways at about 8:00 p-m.
Photos from the scene show the plane upside down and in pieces.
Officials say they think this is the first plane crash the Racine Fire Department has responded to in at least 15 years.
The F-A-A and N-T-S-B will handle the investigation.
