Madison golfer Steve Stricker is holding out hopes he gets the assistant he wants when the U-S Ryder Cup team takes on Europe in September.
Stricker says he’s talked to Tiger Woods but received no commitment yet.
Woods is still recovering from the extensive injuries he suffered when he wrecked an S-U-V in California.
Stricker says Woods did a “great job” as the team captain at the Presidents Cup in 2019 and as Stricker’s assistant at the same event two years earlier.
It isn’t clear if Woods will have completely recovered from multiple leg fractures he suffered in February.
This year’s showdown will be at Whistling Straits in Kohler.
