The number of COVID-19 cases in Manitowoc County continues to decline, but so is the number of people getting vaccinated.
In the Health Department report from yesterday (May 20th), only three new cases were added, bringing the pandemic total up to 7,604, while the number of people hospitalized in the area fell by three to 27.
The death toll remained unchanged at 71.
Meanwhile, only 248 vaccines were administered, with 83 of those going into the arms of first-time patients. This brings the total number of shots given out up to 64,001, with 34,372 of those being first doses, or roughly 53.7%.
About 43.5% of Manitowoc County residents have gotten at least one dose, compared to about 46% of Wisconsinites.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health reported nine new cases yesterday, which is a bit higher than they had been reporting, but nothing to be concerned about.
Also, five people were added to the recovered column, leaving their pandemic totals at 13,783 confirmed cases, 13,560 recoveries, and 80 cases remain active.
They did not report any new deaths, leaving that total at 143.
