For the first time since the April 5th report, the Manitowoc County Health Department reported yesterday (May 27th) zero new cases of COVID-1
That leaves the pandemic total unchanged at 7,625 as was the death toll which remains at 71. The number of people hospitalized in the area fell by two to 18. That number has slowly been declining over the past two weeks when it was at 35.
On the vaccination front, there were 136 more shots administered yesterday, with 80 of them being first doses. This brings the total number of shots given up to 65,435, with 35,175 of those being first dose shots.
As of yesterday’s report, 44.5% of Manitowoc County residents have gotten at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, two more deaths were attributed to COVID. These individuals were in the 60-69 and 80 plus age groups, and bring their death toll up to 145.
Also, five new cases and five recoveries were reported by the Division of Public Health. This brings their pandemic totals up to 13,824 confirmed cases, and 13,597 recoveries, and leaves their active case count at 82.
